This Just In!

I’d like to take a few minutes of your time to talk about the part about this campaign that I am focused the least on: Me.

I am thankful and honored to announce that I have recently been endorsed by the Greater Southeastern Massachusetts Labor Council.

ENDORSEMENT ALERT!

I wan to thank President Lisa Lemieux for allowing me the opportunity to speak to the Greater SEMA Labor Council and for believing in my ability to bring our values to the Fall River School Community.

This is my second official endorsement, after being the first ever candidate endorsed by the Yankee National Party.

Last little plug, I have added a Donation page to the menu bar up top. That page also has a link to a Cafe Press site that has merchandise with my logos on it, if you wanted some of those for any reason.

Rest in P.

The recent death of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk has seen a rush of public figures, both liberal and conservative, offering their Thoughts and Prayers™. Some of these folks have done so voluntarily. A subset of that group have even offered them sincerely.

And this recent public shooting has me feeling bad too.

I feel bad for his children, who will now have to grow up without their father.

I feel bad for his family and his true friends for what they have personally lost.

I feel bad that he chose to use his platform to spread lies, misinformation and whip up hatred. Especially against communities that were already vulnerable to such hate.

I feel bad that, even before we knew anything about who killed him, the right was using his death as an excuse to continue carrying out this litany of hatred. One that they didn’t really need an excuse for, considering that one week before, a chain restaurant changing their logo was enough to get them up in arms.

It hurts me to be constantly reminded that gun violence is an assumed constant in this country. And I sure as hell don’t have any answers for it that would ever be enacted. Just yesterday, Fall River’s Vo-Tech High School was placed on lookdown due to a weapons threat. One that, thankfully, turned out to be a hoax.

I am all for empathy. It’s a huge part of who I am as a person and what I will always stand up for.

But, mostly, I feel bad for myself in the aftermath of this situation.

I feel bad that I may now never get my opportunity to be featured on SchoolBoardWatchlist.org, Kirk’s the running list of School Committe members across the country who weren’t right-wing enough for him and those who share his beliefs..

Because, at least as of today, the list seems to have been taken down. If I had to guess, it’s probably due to his team not wanting any accurate quotes and statements of his to be readily available to the public right now.

A bald, bearded white male is holding an open book and gesturing towards a dark red hammer and sickle.

If I do get elected, I do promise to push doctrine that holds the symbol of the Eastern White Pine to a much higher standard than the Hammer and Sickle.
